INGRID CHRISTINA SANDBERG (31) daughter of Anders Nilsson Sandberg(62), a blacksmith and Ann Clemedsson(63) was born 17 May 1831, in Sandby, Sodra Sandby, Malmohus, Sweden. She was the oldest in her family with two younger brothers, Nils Petter and Jons Kristian. Ingrid married Ola Hansson Holmberg(30) on 14 March 1852. They had two children Elin Annette(15) born on 8 October 1852, and Hans Jacob born on 9 May 1854. Holmberg deserted the family when the children were small, and Ingrid divorced him. Ingrid supported her little family as a nurse in a hospital. While working, she nursed a man named Sven Anderson. They fell in love and were married on 20 December 1858. They were blessed with two more children, Edward and Sophia who were born in Malma, Sweden.
We have no baptism date for Ingrid but her brother John was baptized in 1861, and came to Utah four years later. He was active in missionary work and went back to his native land as a missionary. So one can suppose that Ingrid and Sven were baptized in Sweden before they came to Utah.
Their names were on the ship “Monarch of the Sea” register.

They had many experiences with the Indians along the way. Before the wagon train reached Salt Lake, Ingrid, the mother of Elin Annette, John, Edward, and Sophia, became ill and they let her ride in the wagon. At one camp as she was getting out of the wagon, the oxen were frightened, she fell and the front wheel passed over her. She was never well after that.
The family settled in Moroni, Utah and Ingrid had a nurse all the time. She died 1 January 1867 and was buried in Moroni, Utah. After she passed away Mr. Anderson married the nurse and they had four children Andrew, Parley, Alvin and Emma.
